1. How do I place an order?

Placing an order couldn’t be simpler. Visit our homepage and click the item you wish to send. If there is no icon for the item you wish to send, scroll down to Any Parcel Any Size and type in the dimensions for an instant quote.

You will then be asked for your name and billing details. If you have used the site before you can type in your email address and password so we can retrieve these details from our database – this saves having to type them out again.

On the next screen you should enter the collection and delivery addresses, when you would like the parcel collected, if you wish to purchase any additional insurance and any other information.

You will then be given the chance to review you order before you are forwarded to the PayPal site to pay for your order.

It really is that simple! If you’re a returning customer, it’s even easier - all the addresses you’ve used in the past are saved and you can select them from a list when you place a new order to save typing them out again.


2. What methods of payment do you accept?

All payments are processed by PayPal – the UK’s leading online payment service. If you sign up for a PayPal account you can pay with a bank transfer but if you don’t wish to sign up for PayPal you can pay using many major credit or debit card including Mastercard, Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Maestro and American Express.

3. Can I order over the phone?

We have designed our online booking system to be as quick and easy to use as possible. It also means that your details will be stored so that you can easily track your orders. If you have problems using our online booking system then you can place your order by phone by calling 01254 249783.


4. Who are Direct Courier Solutions?

Direct Courier Solutions have been one of the UK’s leading online parcel delivery services for several years. We specialise in next day delivery of awkward sized items, such as alloy wheels and bicycles – items which other companies don’t like carrying.

In June 2010 we launched a new section of our site aimed directly at our business customers. The new site offers fantastic discounts to those sending more than five parcels each month, displays VAT exclusive prices and makes it easy to print invoices.

We are based at Ewood Park in Blackburn, Lancashire.


5. What packaging is required?

For alloy wheels with tyres we suggest facing the alloys with cardboard templates and then covering with bubblewrap or bin bags.

Other packages should be wrapped to ensure they are not damaged by minor knocks or scrapes in transit.

Destination address labels should be applied to all packages.


6. How much insurance is included?

Your goods will be insured for £12 per kg of weight or the cost value of the goods whichever is lower.

Additional insurance can be purchased for £7.50 per £1000 up to a maximum of £3000.


7. When can collections be made?

We collect Monday - Friday between 9am - 5.30pm. You can select any collection date over the next two weeks although sadly we cannot accommodate specific timed collections. However we will endeavour to accommodate PM collections between 12 noon and 5.30pm if specially requested. Goods can be left safe for collection or dropped off at your local Interlink, DPD, Fedex or TNT depot depending on which courier we utilise for your collection. If you are unsure which carrier is being used, email support@directcouriersolutions.co.uk quoting your order number.


8. What is the cut of time for same day collections?

Orders must be placed by 12 noon for same day collection. There are no collections on Saturday or Sunday, the earliest collection date for orders placed during the weekend will be Monday.


9. How long will the delivery take?

Most consignments are delivered within 24 hours (95%), however this is not guaranteed. If you require guaranteed delivery before noon or before 10am next day, then please use one of the premium services on our Business site. Scottish Highland & Island deliveries usually take 2-3 days.


10. How can I track my package?

To track your package, visit the Customer Area and enter your email address and the password you were sent when you placed your order. If you have lost your password, click the link and a reminder will be sent to your registered email address.

Once you are logged in, click on My Orders and all your previous orders will be shown in a table. To review your order, click ‘details’ or click ‘track online’ for up to the minute information on your delivery.

If you placed your order over the phone, simply go to the Customer Area and enter the tracking number you were given in the box provided.


11. What happens if a collection fails?

If the courier arrives on the requested day and goods are not packaged to ship or there is nobody to receive the courier you will incur a £10 failed collection fee and should call us on 01254 249783 as soon as possible to arrange a recollection. We will also try to get in touch with you via the phone and email details you provided when placing the order.


12. What happens if there is nobody home when the delivery is attempted?

The courier will leave a card with the local depot number on it. The customer should then call the depot within 72 hours to arrange a second free delivery. If there is no response to the card within 72 hours the goods will be returned to sender. Costs for the return will be incurred.
